Why the Need for Botox Cosmetic?
Botox cosmetic treatment has been one of the most popular treatments performed by Orange County cosmetic surgeon Dr. Roham. Botox reduces frown lines and worry lines for up to four months.

What Causes frown Lines?
Skin aging is a very complex process involving a long list of multiple factors. botox_1 Some of the components that contribute to skin aging include cellular changes, collagen depletion, hormone loss, damage caused by free radicals, as well as muscle movements beneath the skin. When a person frowns the facial muscles contract, causing pleating of the skin. After years of the frowning process, those wrinkles in the skin begin to linger and can become more pronounced. In women, these lines may appear exaggerated and more permanent, due to the fact that women's skin is more delicate and more animated than men's.

How does Botox work?
All muscle movements including those of the brows are caused by the release of the chemical messenger Acetylcholine at the nerve endings. Botox can be used to smooth severe to moderate frown lines between the brows since it prevents the release of Acetylcholine from the nerve endings thus preventing muscle movement. The results can be seen within a couple of days following the injection and may last up to four months.

The Process
One of the most beneficial aspects of the Botox Cosmetic treatment botox_1is that it is a NON-INVASIVE process. That means that there is NO SURGERY required, and can be done in 10 minutes with no recovery time needed. The process begins with the doctor examining your ability to move certain and critical facial muscles and once the injection sites are determined, the doctor will administer several tiny injections into the muscles. Most patients describe injections as a small pin prick. Botox Cosmetic will work to reduce the contraction of your muscles that result in the frown lines.
